STEEPED IN HORSE RACING HISTORY
The horse racing history of our facilities goes back even further than the 3 generations of Hollinsheads who have trained here. Famous trainer Tom Coulthwaite previously trained 3 grand national winners off of what are now our family gallops. The land is ideal to simulate the varied ground found on courses across the country, and the gradient makes it perfect for getting horses fit.
15 Racecourses within 100 miles
Chester, Haydock, Uttoxeter and Stratford are just some of the racecourses on our doorstep. Our central location means we have a vast array of options to suit individual horses, travel to certain meetings and be easily commutable for our owners.
Grand daughter of legendary trainer Reg Hollinshead, Steph's introduction to racehorses was at the earlier age than most. On ponies at the tender age of two she soon progressed through pony club and started riding out for her Granddad at 13.
At 16 Steph was long listed for the British Junior event team, but this was not where her passion lay. After leaving school she took an apprentice licence for her Grandfather and proceeded to ride 22 winners under rules. During this time Steph would ride out for Sir Henry Cecil at every opportunity. It was Sir Henry that encouraged Steph to think more about training, and after a spell with David Elsworth in Newmarket, Steph returned to manage her parents stud farm and took her licence there in 2013.
Together with her husband, two children and hard working team they strive for continued success.
